This year I will be 40 years old. I do plan to have a gathering of friends and family for celebration and I can’t wait. I am so thankful to God for the years I have been on His earth. I have gone through so many things and at times left lucky to be alive. But He is forever faithful to me in my journey in His will.
Recently I have posted some pictures on Facebook from my younger years. Of course you will be rolling on the floor laughing at my big glasses and the 80’s styles. But, after busting a gut or two, I just looked at those pictures again and wondered….where did that body go?
Today I went to a local rib joint and got a wing dinner (ok, that’s where some of the body went…I know). I won’t mention the name due to my next comments, but the food was not worth I paid and I think it was cooked in day old oil. Now as a young whipper snapper I could eat something cooked in 5 day old oil and wash it down with chocolate chip cookies. Now!!!??? My digestive system put me on punishment for eating that food. I’m still feeling it at the time of this writing :o( I understand the knees cracking a little bit…rolling out of the bed rather than jumping out…being winded after walking up more than three flights of stairs and taking a couple of Motrin after yard work. I just want to know what the heck is going on inside of me. Where’s my stomach of steel? Heartburn? You got to be kidding me!
And this is what I was rushing to get to as a teenager?
Nevertheless, I am thankful still….I may trip a little bit after my first annual prostate exam but I’m still thankful.
This is what I was rushing to? Where’s a inter-galactic time machine when you need one? :o)
