It’s summer in Cleveland which means schools are letting out and summer trips and vacations are being prepared. Amusement parks as well as our local parks and pools will be fill with our little and not so little pride and joys.
As parents the worse feeling to drop on us during those playful times is the emptiness when we can’t locate any of our children. Everyday many parents experience this with positive and unfortunately negative results. My work as a security officer has me dealing with parents children daily and often because of a late bus or parents have to work later than normal, the child is horrified because somehow the’re not with the mom, dad or guardian. When I ask them their phone number or apartment number, they are to nervous to remember or just don’t know. This is no fault to the parents because things happen, and hey…there’re kids. They want mommy and don’t want to be asked questions, just give me mommy!
Necessity is the mother of invention and this holds true for a teenage entrepreneur named Steve Gordon who is the founder of TattooID. The company provides temporary safety tattoos for children. I’m not a tattoo person per say, but I do remember as a child getting those temporary tattoos from the Cracker Jack boxes as a prize and thought they were pretty cool. That being said, I do think this is a great idea and TattooID has teamed up with me to sponsor a giveaway.
More on that in a moment.
Steve and I follow each other on Twitter. He has been reaching out to parents regarding his product and I must say, he had me at hello. The fact he started this business as a teenager, and still is by the way, excited me. Secondly it’s his passion for why he’s doing this that is also impressive. He is an older sibling and one day he thought he’d lost his brother. He did find him, but that event caused Steve to think of ways to make sure there was a fun solution to have information visible in case a situation like that occurred again.
Back to the giveaway.
