Don’t call it a comeback
I been here for years
Rockin my peers and puttin suckas in fear
Makin the tears rain down like a MON-soon
Listen to the bass go BOOM
Over the competition, I’m towerin
Wreckin shop, when I drop these lyrics that’ll make you call the cops
Don’t you dare stare, you betta move
Don’t ever compare
Me to the rest that’ll all get sliced and diced
Competition’s payin the price
-LL Cool J – Mama Said Knock You Out
When Zydrunas Ilgauskas walks into the “Q” Mama Said Knock You Out should be his theme song as he steps onto the court. He won’t be dropping lyrics that will make you call the cops, but he will be dropping points in the paint and an occasional three from for the outside corner.
I like Big Z. I hated to see him go (but yes I was happy we didn’t get rid of JJ Hickson) yet I understand the game and the business of the game. Do what you have to do get a Ring right? And I do what to live in a championship city for a change. And that’s why I’m a fan not a general manager.
I just wonder if Z would have come back if it wasn’t this late in his career or if a real championship contender needed him. Even though he has invested much in to the Cavalier organization, this past year has seen him treated second-rate rather than the all-star. Coach Brown had him sit out the game that would have taken him over the top as the Cavs all time leader in games played. I think that hurt fans as much as it hurt him. So we shake that off and here comes big Shaq O’neal. So Z is now a bench player. And oh by the way he hears his name in trade rumors and then…yep hes gone. Gone from the only team and organization he has played for in the NBA.
So I know Z is going to say the right things in public, but I just wonder how he really feels. I’m happy! And I hope he gets the ring he deserves. I want it more for him than for LeBron James need a ring to stay or whatever. Z has all the war wounds and the time and numbers to have a very good career, all he needs is a championship to make it a great one. Whether James stays or goes, I hope the Cavaliers win a ring this year, if for no one else…Big Z.
