Have you ever thought about your Legacy? Yes, I’m serious…have you ever thought of your Legacy? I know usually when I hear the word “legacy” I often think of how the word is used overwhelmingly in the sports world. For example, this year Denver Broncos quarterback, Peyton Manning, retired. Peyton is arguably one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history. Leading up to his retirement speech Peyton had a negative media issue surrounding him, and many sports analysts discussed what would his legacy eventually be if the issue sticks around? Peyton is the “class act” of the NFL. In...Read More

Many of us talk a lot about the “Ah Ha Moment”. You know that point where you get it or you have your epiphany. As parents we have our moments with our children, but I like to be a little bit more specific and treasure what I call “Dad Moments”. What is a dad moment you may ask? Here is an example of two of my dad moments. When my 22 year old list her top 10 lectures I gave when she was in trouble and ends the conversation by saying “dad you’re a great mentor” or When my 6 yr old is...Read More

This past week my family and I will laid my uncle to rest, Bishop F. E Perry. He lived a great life of 85 years. As a leader in the Body of Christ and our city, he received more accolades than I can write in this post, and he will be missed by many. When I heard of his passing it hurt my heart. Not just for me, but for my father, his brother, and for Bishop’s family. Then I began to walk towards my wife to tell her the news, and as I did, I remembered when I...Read More
This past weekend, Cleveland hosted the Wizard Comic Con for comic book fans. And yes, if not for being snowed in, Joseph and I would have been there in full costume! The two of us often play as super heroes like Batman, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and the like. We have super hero team-ups and save the day. We are big fans of the Teen Titans, Justice League, and of course, the Avengers. I have called him my Super Son, and in return he has called me, Super Dad! Super Dad…Not so much. Though I love the fact my son...Read More

It has made the world smaller, and news is not up the minute, but up to the second. But, like my wife says, “It’s Pandora’s Box.” With all the good social media has done and provided to us, the same can be...Read More
